Without a doubt, the holiday season is our absolute favorite time of year here at CASA of NWA.
Sure, it’s chaotic and our office becomes a wildly messy place as we find space for (and organize) over 400 giant bags of gifts for our CASA kids. Our staff work extended hours, balancing their caseloads with extra holiday duties, and our advocates travel across the state to make sure that their CASA kids receive their gifts.
Our staff, advocates, and holiday sponsors ensure that the children, teens, and young adults in our program receive gifts that were picked out specifically for them. Every year we reflect on the chaos, the busyness, and the mess, and happily choose to continue taking on this chaos because nothing compares to the honor of bringing holiday joy to these amazing kids.
But we certainly don’t do this work alone!
We may organize the gift bags, but YOU provide the joy!
When you choose to be a holiday sponsor you are doing more than simply checking items off a wish list. You are bringing hope and happiness to a young person experiencing one of the most challenging times in their young life.
Last year we heard from a foster parent, “Our kids said they have never had a Christmas like this past one. They were overwhelmed at the great gifts they received, everything they asked for. I think for a moment they forgot they were in foster care.”
This holiday season we invite you to take part in this unique opportunity to bring joy to young people in foster care. Whether they are newborns experiencing their very first holiday season or young adults experiencing their first holiday season living on their own, we believe that every young person deserves to feel special and celebrated during the holidays.
